Shooting affair in Shuvu Banim: fifth suspect turned himself in

Conflict affair in the Shuvu Banim community, which developed into a police investigation, shooting at an apartment in Meah Shearim, and a series of arrests and indictments, continues to generate employment for police investigators.

Another suspect involved in the shooting surrendered today (Tuesday) and turned himself in to the police - and was arrested. The suspect, a minor, will be brought for a remand hearing tomorrow at around 8:30, at Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court.

Charges against most of those involved were filed recently, and another man wanted for questioning turned himself in last week and was also arrested.

Last week and a half, the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office filed to the District Court an indictment against Itai Nachman Shalom, Aaron Yaakov Richter and David Avraham Shemtov, 18, 27 and 19 respectively, who live in Jerusalem and Be'er Yaakov.

The three were accused of offenses including possession of weapons, shooting in urban and assault and aggravated injury.

Yesterday (Sunday) Rami Rachamim Shalom, 20, a resident of Elad turned himself in to the police, on suspicion that he was involved with the shooting at the door of a house in Meah Shearim in Jerusalem, in conflict within the community of Shuvu Banim headed by Rabbi Eliezer Berland.
