After the election, the coalition negotiations, signing and oaths of Ministers - Today is the last step: change of ministers in government offices.
Interior Ministry tension was great: the outgoing minister, Eli Yishai, will be from today an ordinary member of the Knesset in the opposition benches: "We will follow you from the opposition, we will be back, bigger and with much more power," he said.
Yishai welcomed the incoming Minister Gideon Sa'ar, calling him "a personal friend. Although the ultra-Orthodox boycott charges, Yishai this morning sounds conciliatory: "The exchange is natural, once we are in the opposition and once in the government, we must accept it."
Survey conducted by the activities of the office during a term ending emphasized the issue of infiltrators: "We are towards the end of this issue, I led a relentless fight, I knew that otherwise today 2000 would be coming per month, but the move has not been completed. We will transfer everyone to all facilities in order to keep the personal security and peace of mind to residents of the state."
Exchange ceremony was attended by outgoing minister ministers Eli Yishai, incoming Minister Gideon Sa'ar and new Deputy Minister MK Faina Kirschenbaum.
Gideon Sa'ar referred in his introduction to his intention to lead reforms and big and significant moves at the Interior Ministry, "Ministry is a central office regarding the lives of Israeli citizens. I intend to lead significant reforms as I led in the education equally of energy and determination. Initially I will be learning and there will be fewer statements."
Saar added: "The MOI has an effect on the citizens of Israel. This office is an interesting combination from policy issues to issues relating to the individual and the life of the individual. Sometimes you have to make heartbreaking decisions, and I pray that I will have wisdom to also promote the right policies and make right decisions and see the human dimension."
"Since 1977 we are most of the time in power and the Ministry of Interior never received a Likud Minister. Likud is a national liberal movement and these are two important elements. National foundation - the significance of maintaining a Jewish state, it is important to not be negligent to do that because we have no other country, and we must maintain it. Fundamental liberal - means the daily work of liberal and humanistic principles should be expressed.
German: I did not understand why the Ministry of Health is not ideal
Health Ministry parted from deputy minister Yaakov Litzman. Director General Prof. Ronni Gamzu said: "Rabbi Yaakov Litzman, let me tell you: for four years you led the health care system, more than most of the health ministers. It was a privilege to be beside as a system administrator. I was deeply impressed; I and other members of the public know how the reform is important to you - not sectarian - national."
Gamzu recalled his first meeting with Litzman: "My first meeting with you was on the mental health reform, you came with your last position - against. We explained, I Motke and Dov, how each passing day keeps the proper treatment from these patients – and you listened attentively. A week later, at the Dead Sea – you stated your support; you knew how to listen, and change your position. From that moment we only needed a determined position at the office, with your special backing - to be brought within two years of the finish line, after 17 years of stagnation."
To the incoming minister, Yael German, said: "Fortunately you have arrived at this position - with an impressive track record of doing - just the opposite paralysis." In this past half week I got to know you honorable Minister German I can tell that you have come here to work diligently, to study, to deal - to change and succeed. I can assure you that this entire packed hall is here to tell you - we are here for your success, success - the success of the health system.
German herself said: "I could not understand how the role of the Minister of Health is not ideal. We are talking about a famous system. I hope that when I exit in four years time it will be the most coveted job in Israel. I came to learn, and I intend to dedicate many hours. I'm not talking necessarily of changes, but there are issues that I'm going to outline a new policy. My mission is now on a great health system which will be recognized not only the world, but also in Israel."
MK Rabbi Yaakov Litzman's farewell: "I quit my job with great satisfaction, with my head held high and with great pride, in view of the considerable work at the health care system for everyone. My appreciation and gratitude to Director General Prof. Roni Gamzu, office management and dedicated employees. Congratulations to the incoming Health Minister Ms. Yael German. I hope she will succeed in this mission to continue promoting and optimizing the system for the benefit of the citizens of Israel."
Bennett: Patrol of Judaism in Israel
Ministry of Education: the outgoing Deputy Education Minister MK Moses turned to the incoming Minister Shay Piron and said: "I hope that the Minister of Education will not belong to Yesh Atid, but to the entire education system. Our education is the highest quality even without core curriculum; we will not allow anyone to harm our quality education."
Piron himself said: "Today I found myself in the most holy place - more than the chief rabbi of Israel, mainly because I think education is the connection between the past, present and future."
At the Ministry of Religious Affairs a Ministerial exchange ceremony took place between the outgoing Minister Yaakov Margi, and the incoming Naftali Bennett and Deputy Eli Ben Dahan. Shas is very afraid of Bennett and Ben Dahan, as speculation about their intention to fill many positions within the religious Zionist rabbi's religion, instead of the Shas rabbis that ruled the office for years.
Bennett said in his words "This is the cruiser of Judaism in Israel and the responsibility is huge. This is a Ministry of G-d, and we refer to this mission with holiness."
