New in south Tel Aviv: Border Patrol

Inauguration ceremony of the Border Patrol Unit in Tel Aviv took place today (Sunday) in the presence of Police Commander Major General Amos Yakov and Tel Aviv District Commander Major General Aharon Aksul. The unit will train with the treatment of disturbances of public order and handling of crisis and terrorism events.

Unit has trained for three months at the bases of the border police training, and from today will be placed at the Levinsky (server) in Tel Aviv.

The unit will deal with the local population and its purpose is to increase the sense of security among residents of south Tel Aviv, following the severe cases that took place there recently.

The unit appointed fifty eight fighters who will be stationed permanently in the Tel Aviv District.

Establishment of the unit is the product of the promise of the Chief of Police, Chief Commander Yohanan Danino and Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch, to increase the station standard to 190 standards, and give a better response to the station missions.
