The Satmar 'masmid' died of heart failure at age 61

Tragedy in Satmar in Williamsburg: Rabbi Shalom Yitzchak Sher zt"l, suffered cardiac arrest and died at the age of 61.

Rabbi Sher zt"l was a prominent Satmar chassid and was known as a huge masmid. He spent most of his time studying Torah at the Beis Midrash Hall where he sat and learned, day and night. In order to support his family, he worked as a real estate agent for rented apartments. His livelihood occupied him little time out of the hours of the day and the rest of the day was dedicated to Hashem.

Yesterday, he concluded with one of the avreichim who wanted to rent his apartment that he will await him in a house in which the latter asked to see, before they make a deal.
When the tenant reached the apartment in a residential building located on Bedford he was horrified to discover that Rabbi Sher was lying on the ground near the door, unconscious. Rescue teams arrived immediately and started resuscitation, but they were too late.

The deceased returned his soul to its Creator, probably shortly before their arrival, as a result of cardiac arrest.

The funeral left the Satmar Beis Midrash in Williamsburg, where rabbis eulogized him. He is survived by his descendants.
May his memory be blessed.
