Posters which circulated over the weekend in Jerusalem against 'Women of the Wall', urges the public to participate in the Rosh Chodesh Nissan mass prayer "against the desecration of the Western Wall and blasphemy."
"Help," cries the poster title. "The Western Wall is lost and desecration by women called 'Women of the Wall are seeking to violate the Wall". The poster urges the public to protest against women on Tuesday Rosh Chodesh Nisan, at seven in the morning.
Following the distribution of the posters, Chairwomen of the Women of the Wall, Anat Hoffman turned to the police and asked to open an investigation.
According to Hoffman, the words 'protest and cry out' are "lip service": "It is clear that the posters with the word 'Help' and then three times the word 'desecration' is a call to immediate action to save the holy places in Israel. Such a call would encourage a person to prevent desecration by injury of women of the Wall group.
"The fact that Jewish women in Israel in the 21st century are stopped by the police because of their desire to pray according to their faith in the most holy place for Jews, while Haredi extremists are spinning freely and distribute such posters is absurd and that requires immediate correction and vigorous measures."
Hoffman called the Israeli public to take action and "join their struggle to release the Wall from the ultra-Orthodox on Rosh Chodesh Nissan at 7:00.
The Movement is fighting for the right of women to pray in a group and loud, read from the Torah, tefillin and wrap shawls, at the women's section at the Western Wall.
