Escalation: Petrol bombs were thrown at the Temple Mount • Police took over the area

At the end of Friday prayers on the Temple Mount, at about 12:40, police broke into the area of the mountain, following the massive stone throwing by Muslim worshipers at police at the Mughrabi Gate. During the event, there was also a serious case, and a precedent of throwing two petrol bombs.

Police threw stun grenades to disperse the throwers, and took control of the Temple Mount, as throwing stones took place occasionally.

Jerusalem police carried out until Shabbos four arrests of suspects on the Temple Mount disturbances, and more arrests are expected.

On Wednesday, the police closed the Temple Mount to visitors, when, during a visit of a group of Jews there were a number of praying Muslim's chanting insults at them.

At around 14:00 on Haim Bar-Lev a scooter rider - probably Arab – threw a firecracker at the municipality's vehicle and fled the scene, so far no known casualties. Scans are being held after the scooter rider.
