Bennett gets the finance portfolio • Sa'ar wants to continue education

After meeting together with his ally Yair Lapid with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Naftali Bennett decided to accept the post of Minister of Finance for Habayit Hayehudi.

Netanyahu told the two men that they must decide between them who would be finance minister. As mentioned, today (Tuesday) the decision was made, and Bennett will take the role for Habayit Hayehudi.

At the same time, Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced, during a department heads conference in his office that he wants to continue in office. "In our political reality I can say I do not know if I will serve as minister of education in the next government. I want to stay on as minister of education and said that also to Prime Minister Netanyahu," he noted.

But in the way of Sa'ar are the men of Yesh Atid, who want to take the job for their number two on the list, Rabbi Shai Piron.

Another struggle, whose end is not in sight, revolves around the foreign portfolio: While Yair Lapid is eyeing the post; Avigdor Lieberman has announced that the file is saved for him by the Prime Minister.

Likud were quick to suggest that if Lapid will take the portfolio of Foreign Affairs, Lieberman will be appointed as Minister of Defense, something Lapid will not allow, and who reflected in the election campaign that he will not join a government that Lieberman would be defense minister.
