Fourth and fifth graders - (ages 11-10) of a Talmud Torah in Jerusalem went out yesterday (Thursday) morning for a trek in Nahal Sorek. The route was to start at Megilot Aish to Nahal Sorek - a track about 2.5 kilometers long.

At the beginning the children enjoyed the trip, but suddenly veered off the path and the guide led them into a tangle of thorns and shrubs, into a bumpy dirt road with mortal danger of snakes and scorpions.

After an arduous journey which lasted seven hours of walking, without water and food, the children ended the journey intact.

It turns out that the trip went out without necessary approvals and a non-certified training instructor, with a clear risk of the life of travelers.

ZAKA organization calls out and reminds before Bein Hazmanim not to take trips without a qualified instructor, without food and drink, and no updated maps of the space track.

You can tell call the Zaka hotline 1220 on entry to a track and update for fear of disappearing in the area. In addition, travelers should make the trips during the day and not endanger themselves after dark.
