Yesha Council requires: "include the orthodox in the government"

Council leaders gathered in Judea and Samaria today (Monday) for a special meeting on the subject of coalition negotiations.

The meeting was attended by Binyamin Regional Council and chairman of the Yesha Council Avi Roeh, Secretary General Convention Ze'ev Hever (Zbmis), mayor of Gush Atzion Davidi Perl, Shomron Regional Council head Gershon Mesika, head of the Har Hebron Zvika Bar-Chai, head of the Karni Shomron Herzl Ben-Ari and mayor of Beit El Moshe Rosenbaum. Also, former Yesha Council Chairman Danny Dayan participated in the meeting.

At the end of the meeting mayors and members of the Yesha Council published a special message which requires forming a government with the orthodox parties.

The statement said: "The Yesha Council sees haredi and their party's partners in the struggle for the land of Israel and there is a great importance to their addition to the government" – the decision read - "For many years we found them loyal supporters of the settlement in these areas and we must recognize them for that. We require all the parties to strive to put the orthodox parties into the government and calling for negotiations with them immediately."
