Ministry of Transport will employ women supervisors on haredi bus lines, as was announced today (Sunday), by the Director of the Office of Transportation, Uzi Yitzchaki.

Yitzhaki appeared today at the Ministerial Committee on the Status of Women, headed by Limor Livnat.

Before the committee, appeared Noa Kantman, the youngster who fell victim to harassment during a bus ride two weeks ago from Safed to Ashdod.

Kantman related to the members of the committee what had transpired. The Transportation Ministry Director Uzi Yitzhaki who heard her words, announced that he had decided to postpone the test report made by Egged on the case as "insufficient". According to Yitzhaki, the company's drivers in the event of Kantman deviated from procedure and therefore he instructed the establishment of an administrative disciplinary investigation against the company.

It was agreed to increase the supervision and enforcement of the Ministry of Transport and running woman supervisors and monitors for public transport operators in Israel. A "hot line" will be resumed to prevent the exclusion of women at the Ministry of Transport, which will receive complaints 24 hours a day.

In addition, the deputy attorney general, attorney Sarit Dana, who is preparing a report for the Commission to prevent the exclusion of women, that will be submitted next week, also appeared in front of the committee.

Minister Livnat sharply criticized the delay in filing the report: "This delay unreasonable and disproportionate, to say the least, which affects a large part of the implementation of the recommendations of the inter - ministerial team and allows exclusion of women to intensify and spread. The complaints in my office and the Status of Women Authority in the Prime Minister's office are stacking up. This must be stopped immediately - one can not abandon women's rights in Israel any longer. "

Attorney Dana revealed some recommendations that the report will contain including: all restrictions on hearing women on the radio station Kol Barama will be cancelled, including the non-employment of women announcers.

The report will include extensive repairs in licenses of Chevra Kadisha societies to avoid any kind of exclusion of women, not only prevent a ban on women's obituary, as planned so far. Meanwhile, the Director-General of religious services, Avigdor Ohana, informed at the meeting that he will formulate a basket of administrative and financial sanctions to enable the Ministry to monitor the actions of the Chevra Kadisha societies in Israel.
