The rocket attacks continue, and tonight (Wednesday), barrages of rockets were fired at the Dan region, the Lowland and South. Most of the rockets landed in open areas, one of which exploded in the air.

"Iron Dome" intercepted a rocket in Rishon Lezion, and no other falls were reported in central Israel. One rocket was intercepted over Ashkelon.

Shortly before midnight, a rocket was fired into the western Negev and exploded in an open area. No one was injured.

Since this morning more than 130 rockets and mortar shells were fired at Israel.

Hamas spokesman announced that he fired four M75 missiles at Tel Aviv in response to the massacre in Jabalia and Sajaiya.

Three IDF soldiers were killed today by an explosion in a structure and booby-trapped tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip. Nine soldiers were also wounded in the incident.

It was cleared for publication that the dead are Sgt Matan Gottlieb, 21, of Rishon Lezion, Staff Sergeant Omar Chai, 21, from Savion and Sgt Guy Algranati from Tel Aviv, all fighters in the Maglan unit.

The baggage of which they were killed was placed in a tunnel under the UNRWA clinic, say Israeli sources cited on NRG site. The report has no confirmation by Israeli officials.

Earlier, Southern Commander Sami Turgeman said regarding the threat of tunnels, "Every day that passes, we move to compliance with the mission – which is the destruction of the tunnels. The security forces are within a few days of this goal that the IDF knew of before the operation, and we will destroy the tunnels uncovered during the operation."

Meanwhile, an Israeli delegation arrived in Cairo for talks with government officials to promote a ceasefire. The delegation was headed by ISA chief Yoram Cohen, and head of the political and Defense Ministry Amos Gilad, after a brief stay in the capital of Egypt, the delegation returned to Israel.
