Jerusalem District Attorney Noga Ben Sidi, filed shortly before at the Juvenile District Court an indictment against a minor 15 year-old resident of Haifa, in respect of grievous bodily harm with aggravating circumstances and obstructing justice. The defendant attacked the complainant and was racially motivated, because he was Jewish.

According to the indictment, on 23/7/14 at night complainant made his way toward the Western Wall as the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. The complainant was wearing Orthodox apparel which facilitates the identification as a Jew. Defendant then an unknown decided to harm the complainant because he was Jewish.

They went after the complainant and clung to it. When he realized that, the complainant stopped at the side of the road to allow the two to pass him. Then they attacked the complainant. They beat him and kicked their feet in his face and head and all at a racist motive, because he was Jewish. The defendant and the others fled the scene, leaving the complainant unconscious on the ground.

As a result of their actions, the complainant suffered a broken jaw and sabotage behind his ear and he was evacuated for medical care. The complainant was hospitalized for four days and required surgery.

After the acts, the defendant threw the clothes he wore during the incident into the trash. Prosecution seeks to detain the defendant until the end of proceedings.
