R' Aharon Leib decided: bein hazmanim in yeshivos will be shortened

The dilemma of bein hazmanim in the Litvishe yeshiva world: at the home of Rabbi R' Aharon Leib Steinman it was decided to shorten the break of bein hazmanim, and studies in yeshivas will be extended until Shabbos Nachamu, after Tisha B'Av. As recalled, in the past few days Hagaon R' Aharon Leib seriously weighed the issue in light of the tense security situation and last night said that "Bitul Torah is the worst offense, and what a terrible chilul Hashem there can be, if G-d forbid yeshiva bochurim will roam the streets, or go on trips during such a period, the iniquity of chilul Hashem is terrible."

The instruction of R' Aharon Leib was joined Rosh Yeshiva of Ponevez and member of the Council of Torah Sages Hgri"g Edelstein who instructed so dozens of Roshei Yeshivas who conferred with him about it.

Even Hagaon R' Shmuel Auerbach said this morning that one should extended the summer zman at least until Motzaei Shabbos Va'eschanan - Nachamu.

"
