Hagaon R' Kalman Zvi Chazan zt"l
Baruch Dayan Ha'emes: in Jerusalem Rabbi Kalman Zvi Chazan z"l, Rosh Kollel Ohel Miriam in the city - three days before the wedding of his son, only 59 years old at his death.
In recent months he was ill, and on Shabbos he was at home in Ramat Shlomo in Jerusalem to celebrate the Simcha of the Aufruf on occasion of his son's marriage. On Friday night he was not feeling well and was taken to the hospital - where he returned his soul to its Creator.
The deceased z"l was born to his father, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Chazal, yibadel lechayim, one of the figures of grace of Jerusalem, and his mother, Mrs. Miriam A"H.
In his youth he studied at Hevon Yeshiva, and married his wife Chaya when he arrived of age, the daughter of Rabbi Yehuda Weissbecker of the famous bookstore in Mea Shearim.
He was a tremendous talmid chochom and ba'al midos who dedicated his life to Torah study. Over the years, his father founded a Kollel in Jerusalem which he headed, and called by the name of his mother, of blessed memory.
He is survived by a dor yeshorim, 11 children, only two of whom he married off.
The funeral left last night (Saturday night) from his home on Chazon Ish Street in Ramat Shlomo at 23:45.
May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
