Hassan Nasrallah: "Rumors about my illness not true"

Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, related today (Wednesday) to reports on his health and how he passes medical treatment in Iran. Nasrallah denied these rumors on a televised broadcast.

Contrary to his habit, things were not recorded in advance and on Al Manar they claimed the live broadcast.

"The rumors which spread and their implications on the region led me to hurry and appear before you to raise a number of issues I wanted to discuss. I just wanted to tell you that what you heard is not true, and to teach a lesson about the news and the attack on the Hezbollah bases lately. There is a sensitive matter here that requires taking a stand and comment", Nasrallah said.

He made the remarks after the media in Lebanon recently reported that he had cancer. By appearance only, there were no signs that his health deteriorated.

Later on Nasrallah denied reports that his deputy Naim Qassem was injured in an attack in Syria.

Afterwards Nasrallah also related to the debate in Lebanon about the voting system in the expected elections in Lebanon in June and made it clear that the organization supports proportional elections, according to political parties.
