Recently Hgray"l Steinman received a visit from Rabbi David Shostel, one of the Roshei Yeshiva of Lakewood. Before parting – Hgray"l sent regards through him to all residents of Lakewood.

During the visit, the subject of the duty of determining times for Torah even to those who deal with public needs. Hgr"d said that in his city, even those dealing with the needs of the public are holy yeshiva students. In response Hgray"l replied: "The world used to investigate, who is called a thief, someone who knows how to steal, or who steals in practice? Of course only those stealing in reality. So also about the scholar, whoever knows how to learn is not called a scholar, but those who learn in practice."

During one of the lessons in the Gemara, held recently at the home of Hgray"l, the Rosh Yeshiva touched issues dealing with dreams and their meaning. Hgray"l told the class participants said that there are righteous people who came in a dream to people in this world after their death. He told several anecdotes as a parable, which he heard from Rabbi Shmaryahu Greineman zt"l about his uncle the Chazon Ish, zt"l.

Hgr"sh was the one who compiled and edited the books of the Chazon Ish. "Once," said Hgray"l, "Reb Schmerl reached a certain section of the words of the Chazon Ish, the phrase could be placed in several places, and the dilemma was great. That night, Reb Schmerl saw the Chazon Ish in a dream, and he said to him exactly where to integrate the passage in question. Reb Schmerl woke up in the morning, ran immediately to investigate the matter, and found that indeed it was inappropriate for the issue in question - and it was a marvel."

In addition, Hgray'l said that the apartment of the Chazon Ish, belonged to a rich Jew, who deposited it in his hands, but ordered in his will that after the death of the Chazon Ish, the apartment will be returned. Indeed, immediately after the denunciation of the Chazon Ish, his family began to take the equipment home and emptied the entire contents prior to its delivery to the rich man. They were prior to handing over the keys, but that night the Chazon Ish came to Rabbi Schmerl in a dream and told him that they had forgotten to take the stender that was fixed to the wall and which the Chazon Ish prayed on.

"I heard these stories from Reb Schmerl myself," confirmed Hgray"l.
