Earning votes: Bennett eliminated the 'old guard'?

Chain of intrigues and machinations in Habayit Hayehudi revealed recently with the publication of the earning votes this week - continues.

Recalling, the affair began with a recording provided by a private investigator, they heard voices saying that Nissan Slomiansky, who surprisingly won third place in the common list - despite being associated with the party's old guard, which ailed entirely, paid them huge sums in cash to acquire their support.

In one of the recordings a voice was heard claiming that part of the deal was to support Slomiansky high position on the list, and for Zevulun Orlev, head of the list.
According to first reports, the private investigator - delivered the material in his possession to the police - hired by party chairman Naftali Bennett, sources close to Bennett even bothered to explain to the media yesterday that they suspected 'non-kosher' things in the context of Slomiansky, so they sent the private investigator.

But this morning (Tuesday) after he categorically denied the allegations, Slomiansky claimed that Bennett is not standing behind the investigation, and was first to call to strengthen it, he said.

Renewed power struggle

If anyone was convinced of it, Bennett himself came and returned the wheel: at a faction meeting of Habayit Hayehudi held today, Bennett referred to the affair, and argued that he had indeed hired the investigator about six months ago, but said that it was due to suspicions about integrity, and without any political connection.

But the sense is completely different, to do so, one should clarify again the camping party, consisting of two power groups: Major old guard, the last of its representatives in its current list is Nissan Slomiansky, who lost overwhelmingly in the last primaries, but still has represented a very strong field, and is not expected to disappear from the map, as opposed to the 'something new is starting' of Bennett.

Although it is unlikely that Bennett himself wanted advertising provision at this time, it is difficult to avoid the impression the private investigator was not sent solely by the desire to 'clean hands'.
"Suddenly now they are spreading rumors, that the distributor refuted them. During such a period of coalition negotiations there are different stakeholders, and the area is buzzing with rumors and gossip. I guess they don’t want me in my chair", presented Slomiansky his version of the chain of events.

At the same time, Slomiansky sent a letter to Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein demanding that they promote the investigation and to finish as soon as possible, through his attorney Rachel Thorne, Slomiansky claims that he is "serving the public for almost 30 years with great devotion, faultlessness, and has been greatly esteemed among the public", and therefore he requires to remove the cloud of suspicion and clean himself of any suspicion.

So who leaked the provision of communication? Habayit Hayehudi points at a variety of options, from Bennett himself, and to other friends who felt their upcoming roles in the government are threatened by Slomiansky, and wanted to disable him.
