For reasons of political alliance with Naftali Bennett, Chairman of Yesh Atid party, Yair Lapid, instructed his faction MKs to cancel a study tour organized in the Jerusalem area by the leftist organization "Geneva Initiative", as reported in Haaretz.

According to the report, about a week and a half ago, MK Moshe Mizrahi from Labor party invited all Knesset members to participate in a study of the area around Jerusalem on behalf of the "Geneva Initiative".

About 18 MKs signed up for the tour, including more than ten from Yesh Atid. The tour was expected to take place last Sunday, but two days before the MKs of Yesh Atid cancelled their participation.

Under various pretexts, the MKs turned to MK Mizrahi, one after the other, and announced that they will not participate.

Lapid hinted to faction members that the reason for his objection is his wish not to harm the political alliance with the Jewish Home of Naftali Bennett. "At present timing of the coalition negotiations one can not go on a tour with an organization that supports the division of Jerusalem," Lapid said to his party members. "After all - we are against the division of Jerusalem."
