The arrest of three suspects in the shooting attack in Mea Shearim last week was extended today (Sunday): the detention of David Shem Tov and Aaron Richter, the suspects, has been extended until Wednesday. Likewise the suspect in the shooting, Itai Nachman Shalom was extended.

Last week, on Thursday night, shots were heard inside the Edmond Street in the neighborhood of Mea Shearim in Jerusalem, during the shooting, there were no injuries.

As published in B'Chadrei Charedim, the fire was part of a rolling conflict between different factions in Shuvu Banim, due to a modesty affair.

The scholar confessed the shooting at the investigation and subsequent to his comments the assailants were also arrested. He also testified that the rabbi who heads the community performed the acts attributed to him.

Against this background an investigation at the Investigation Unit for serious and international crimes opened in which at the center stands the community leader.

On Thursday night, at about 2:00 at night, a violent fight broke out outside the shul in Mea Shearim, during which Itai Nachman Shalom, a 30 year old Baal Teshuva who studies at the Kollel was beaten, he independently vacated by taxi to the hospital - where he was treated.

Following the attack, the beaten man apparently arrived at the home of the parents of Aaron's Yaakov Richter who was involved in a fight. He hit the door and receiving no answer, fired at the front door and fled before police arrived.

Less than a day after the shooting, on Friday night, Itai Nachman Shalom, who was with his mother in Eilat, was arrested. After Shabbos he was evaluated by the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court, where his detention was extended.

During this week David Shem Tov and Aaron Richter were arrested, on suspicion of aggravated assault.

Hearing held today at the three suspects, Jerusalem Magistrate Judge Abraham Rubin said that there was enough evidence material to establish reasonable suspicion against the three suspects.

"Review of the investigation indicates that the investigation is almost depleted in the sense that there could have been made by police almost entirely and what is difficult to be performed may probably not be done. Nevertheless, there are still a number of actions required to complete treatise evidence. He said that the actions of the investigation relates to the three suspects".

The police demanded to extend the detention for eight days, the judge granted in part, and the remand was extended until Wednesday.

Because of the high sensitivity, the investigation of the case was transferred to the Crimes Jerusalem police. It turns out that there are other cases where researchers concerning the leader of the community, and also deal with similar offenses.
