Efforts of activists helped: Although detention was to last until Motzei Shabbos Zachor – Reb Chaim Halperin and three London inmates released home just before Shabbos

At the last minute, after many efforts of local activists, slightly before Shabbos, the four London detainees were released home.
Recalling, on Thursday the local court extended by 36 hours the arrest of Rabbi Chaim Halperin, the son of Rabbi Elchanan Halpern – one of the most prominent Rabbis of England - suspected of attacking women who came to him for advice in matters of Shalom Bayis. Three other detainees were suspected of obstruction of justice.
Three other detainees are his brother Rabbi David Halperin, Gavriel Ost - leader of Shomrim in Golders Green, and Alexander Strom, a businessman in Golders Green, also known as a journalist in the local newspaper.
The detainees have committed to appear for questioning in 14 days, or at any other time summoned.
