Federation of American on Hgr"o Yosef: "blasphemy"

Chief Rabbinical Council in America, the largest Orthodox rabbi's organization in the continent, which identifies with religious Zionism, launched today (Monday) a letter of support to Rabbi David Stav, following the unprecedented attack from Hgr"o Yosef.

The organization's president, Rabbi Shmuel Goldin, and his deputy, Rabbi Aryeh Mantkin, wrote to Rabbi Stav: "on behalf of all members of the Rabbinical Council of America we express our support and encouragement, Rabbi in Israel on whom they say, 'See how beautiful are his ways and how great are his as it says, ויאמר לי עבדי אתה ישראל אשר בך אתפאר.
"We were shaken by the terrible things Hgr"o Yosef spoke about His Honor last Motzei Shabbos and we heard about the events at the wedding in Bnei Brak of Rabbi Rabinowitz's daughter. This is what Torah teaches?"

The Rabbis cite the Gemara which discusses what blasphemy is: "Woe to somebody who studied Torah woe to his father who studied Torah woe to his teacher who taught Torah, see how spoiled are his actions and how ugly are his ways."

They said, "We come to show our thanks for all he did for the benefit of Klal Yisrael, the Land of Israel, and Israel. We look forward to working together with His Honor i for many years and glorify the Torah and bring people closer to our Father in Heaven by keeping what it says, "Love the Lord your God, expressing God's name on you."
