Rosh Yeshiva of Ponovicz, Hgry"g Edelstein, today protested against the attack on Rabbi David Stav last night at the wedding of the daughter of the Rabbi of the Wall, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz.
During the wedding, the yeshiva students pushed the candidate for the position of Ashkenazi chief rabbi, Rabbi David Stav, who celebrated at the wedding. When he left the hall due to the harassment, some students shouted towards him "evil" and "sheigatz".
Between the yeshiva students were friends of the chassan, Ponovicz Yeshiva students, and this was anathema to the Rosh Yeshiva, Hgry"g Edelstein.
During a shiur this afternoon, the Rosh Yeshiva addressed the attack and protested against it.
"Even if there is criticism," he said, "we must not be angry. Even if you are angry – you may not scream, and everyone understands what I am referring to. This is not the behavior of the Torah, this is not our way."
The Rosh Yeshiva went on to tell about the young man who suffered anger, and because of that hit his children, until he learned firsthand how to act.
