Bayit Vegan: neighborhood closed 40 minutes before sunset
Following the will of the Shmiras Shabbos Kehilchasa author zt"l: By the order of Hgr"a Auerbach, the entrance to the Bayit Vegan neighborhood was closed 40 minutes before sunset

Bayit Vegan neighborhood of Jerusalem has lost one of its most prominent Rabbis, Rabbi Yehoshua Neuwirth zt"l, author of Shmiras Shabbos Kehilchasa, whose top priority was keeping Shabbos.
During the funeral the will was read out, in which he asked that Jerusalem residents will receive the Shabbos 40 minutes before sunset, as is custom in Jerusalem. This comes after the practice has been compromised recently.
On Friday, it was decided נט the neighborhood rabbi, Hgr"a Auerbach, to fulfill the will and close the entrances to the neighborhood 40 minutes before sunset.
Ads around the neighborhood said that the daughters of Israel will agree to light candles 40 minutes before sunset and stop desecration of Shabbos in public, let alone drive in the public domain.
Hgr"a Auerbach went with a group of residents to supervise the new installation of closing entries.
