Rosh Yeshiva fired, and the student covering him - accused

Jerusalem District Attorney filed today (Sunday) through attorney Shlomit Ben-Yitzhak, an indictment against Avraham Weissman in respect of providing false information, obstruction of justice and carrying a weapon and unlawful taking.

Weissman convened a false message that he carried out the shooting at Eli Liberty, a former student at the Yeshiva Ben Ish Chai, an act which convicted Rosh Yeshiva Menachem Edri, and his friend Yitzchak Zohar.

According to the indictment, the defendant armed two weeks ago with a stolen gun, which he received from someone whose identity is unknown, and hid it in the Ohr Zafon yeshiva in Jerusalem. Then, Weissman called the police and falsely claimed that he is the one who shot Eli Liberty. This came after the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Menachem Edri and his friend Yitzchak Zohar were convicted a few days earlier for the attack.
Further, the defendant gave the police the location of the gun.

It should be noted that the sentencing of Edri and Zohar were rejected till 06/10/13 and after a few days again rejected at the request of Edri to 6/25/13.
