In Kaplan hospital in Rechovot died today (Tuesday) afternoon Daniel Yifrach z"l, aged 7, who drowned ten days ago in the water park at Kibbutz Hafetz Haim.
The hospital said that the child was rushed to the pediatric intensive care unit in critical condition when after drowning in the pool. After a week during which medical staff fought for his life, they had to confirm his death today at 16:15.
Daniel's funeral will leave at 19:00 from his home Hagdudim Street in Beer Sheva to the city cemetery.
The late Daniel came to the pool with his brother, held as part of a trip for the children of the Talmud Torah, Be'er Yitzchak from Beer Sheva. During the stay in the pool he drowned, and he was pulled from the water unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing.
After resuscitation which lasted well on the way to Kaplan hospital in Rechovot, the pulse returned - but after a long struggle for his life, he died of his wounds.
Following the incident, lowland space police launched an investigation, and four people - including pool manager, accompanied by the Talmud Torah and two rescuers - were interrogated and questioned.
Water Park Hafetz Hayim delivered to B'Chadrei Charedim after the drowning: "Management of Water Park Hafetz Hayim regrets the incident that occurred this week in the park. However it is important to say that the water park has all necessary approvals to open the park.
"Following the case, the police opened an investigation in full cooperation with the management of the park. After testing, we found that the number of rescuers, who were present in pools during the incident, was high above the required standard. This is also why the police released after a few hours the manager, without any restrictive conditions. The water park will continue to serve the public, and will not save means to provide the maximum safety for the benefit of visitors.
Leah Zohar, Lowland Region Police spokesperson, told B'Chadrei Charedim, the water park managers presented all necessary documents and meets the conditions set by the police and the local council, and as a result since then the park opened yesterday for groups of children. At the same time, the investigation in respect of criminal responsibility for a child's drowning continues.
