Threat to the lives of the chief rabbis of Israel:
Offices of the Rabbis, Rabbi Yona Metzger and Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar, received this morning (Monday) identical letters, including a gun image and the inscription "This is the last warning." In the letter the Chief Rabbis were required to allow Women of the Wall to pray as they wish, and if not, "go back home with a hundred Orthodox bodies."
In addition, in the letters were written invective and name-calling against the religious, and the letter was signed with the words: "We will no longer restrain, releasing the Wall again."
CEO Chief Rabbinate, Oded Wiener, passed the letter to the security officer in charge of the Prime Minister as part of their security role of chief rabbis, and requested police assistance to act immediately, in order to identify the senders of the letters - prior to a disaster.
B'Chadrei Charedim learned that the Western Wall Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, last week received a similar letter at his home, and since he had to walk around with tight security for fear of his life.
Chief Rabbinate reacted with shock to the letter and set it crossed a red line, "This is the first time that the Chief Rabbis of Israel receive death threats, and unfortunately in the state of Israel, we have learned that words are capable of killing. This is not about just a threat to the rabbis, but the entire community using strong language. We hope the police will exhaust justice with the inciters and those who threaten. "
Recall, two weeks ago the Chief Rabbinate took to the issue of the struggle of Women of the Wall and finding a solution to restore the peace and quiet of the Western Wall.
A Chief Rabbinate source told B'Chadrei Charedim: "Within the investigation, all directions will be tested."
MK Eli Yishai commented: "radicalization against the haredim passes all bounds, and it appears that it is only a matter of time until we see the results. This letter could not have been sent, unless the fertile soil that encourages the rampant incitement against Haredim lately. The police will do everything possible to find and prosecute the warmongers, some of which carry public office, to consider their words and actions to consider and more responsible, and this was before we will see cases where explanations and apologies do not benefit."
