As promised by Commander Dan Albert Ohayon at noon today to B'Chadrei Charedim, this evening (Tuesday) were arrested eight yeshiva students in Bnei Brak on Hashomer Street, for a breach of public order.

Ohayon said in a conversation with B'Chadrei Charedim: "As promised, we performed before the arrest of young people who violated the order, and if it keeps up there will be more arrests as much as necessary, we'll reach eighteen prisoners."

When asked whether there is a backup to the demonstrations by rabbis he said: "If one of the rabbis has a problem with arrests, let them talk to me."

Recall the last two nights yeshiva students demonstrated in Bnei Brak against conscription law - and police say today that it was decided to take strong measures against the rioters.

On Sunday, late in the evening, a number of boys gathered on Hashomer Street in Bnei Brak. They dragged garbage tins into the street and later set fire to them. As a result the road - major axis in the city- was closed. Yesterday demonstration in the same format was held again.
The one who came to deal with the protesters was Chief of Israel Police Dan, Commander Albert Ohayon, who appeared alone. Last night he was even injured during the protest.

Ohayon decided not to bring police to the scene of the demonstration, but put them on alert around, so as not to inflame the situation.

In a conversation with B'Chadrei Charedim Ohayon this afternoon he said that during the protest last night he saw the young man began to push a garbage tin into the street. "I chased him and managed to stop him, but he went wild and got away from me, as he wounded my hand." The commander went to receive medical treatment, and found that it was only bruised.

"No more," says Ohayon to B'Chadrei Charedim. "I will not allow rioters to continue the protests. If they show up today again, we'll make arrests; everything so that the residents of the city will be able to move around the city safely and rest peacefully at night."
