There is no prophet in Israel but there is a prophet in London: Rabbi Elyakim Schlesinger, Rosh Yeshiva of Rama in Stamford Hill in London found those guilty of the sudden death of Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Berger, 27, who died last week after collapsing in his home as a result of pneumonia that became complicated.
In a letter written by the Rabbi he states that student's death which left behind a wife and two children requires from each one, "observance", especially people who define themselves as Bnei Torah."
So what do we do to avoid such situations in the future? "Strengthen in the matter which we already spoke about on the obligation to pray for the safety of scholars in the city, and everywhere, as our ancestors ordered to pray on Shabbos after reading the Torah, Yakum Purkon, and say it intensely since a prayer said from the heart is not the same as any other prayer."
So far things are based on the words of Chazal but note the next section: The second reason for the cause of the death is contempt of Rabbi Chaim Halperin, head of Congregation Divrei Chaim, the one who allegedly behaved in a criminal and despising way against women treated by him.
"We all know what happened in our city last year," writes Rabbi Schlesinger, "contempt of a Talmid Chacham in a terrifying and terrible manner and we did not protest against it properly. And we need to strengthen respect for scholars and protest their contempt."
