Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, attacks in the strongest terms the finance minister and Yesh Atid chairman, Minister Yair Lapid.
Talking to members of the Likud branch in Ra'anana he spreads his teachings and blames Yair Lapid for stopping the haredi IDF enlistment process.
"So now we are dealing with the matter so-called equality of burden," he says, "but first of all let it be clear when I served in the army I did not feel the burden I felt it was a privilege to serve.
"I do expect the youth of Israel to possess consciousness, conscious to take responsibility. Now we have developed all kinds of things in the Haredi sector in the Arab sector for various reasons. We failed - people did not notice it - even under the previous government, to promote the Haredim who serve and Arabs in national and civil service.
"Look at the ultra-Orthodox; I remember I absorbed in the command center the first Nahal Haredi battalion in 1999. It was a historic event. In 2007, we already had a battalion of 300 soldiers.
"Gentlemen last year 1500 soldiers enlisted without declaring war on them, without sending them to prison. Whoever wants this sector to recruit there is an internal natural process which I watch in awe and accompany it. I know the people and it is a natural process that rabbis understand too. They are also happy about it because whoever does not want to learn Torah should go to work whoever does not want to go learn Torah should serve.
"And you will hear from people: it is not so easy to sit in a yeshiva and learn from morning till night, and so on and so forth. They believe it so let's not attack them let's allow them to serve first, routes are opened we open another battalion of ultra-Orthodox I do not know if it will be a Nahal but we open by my orders another battalion of Orthodox and behold these soldiers are released from this service and 91 percent more than average integrate in the employment market. 85 percent of those who serve in civilian national service go out to work.
"Now I see the Haredi sector employment is raising year by year, magnitude of 6 percent per year increase. Why, because we let it. Then the Haredi is not worth poor.
"Do you suppose something; the Orthodox is worth poor, why? And immediately you look around and see the neighbor who suddenly from socio economical 2 became6 and remained Orthodox and nothing happened so it is a natural process, to encourage him, not to attack him only encourage him.
"Anyone who thinks that by an attack on them that by threatening them and inform them that whoever it is, and as happened with Plesner and almost what happened now with Yesh Atid - straight to jail. I do not want to live in a Jewish state in which I take yeshiva students studying Torah to jail.
"We will get what we want. If in the end there will be iluyim who wish to learn Torah, we once talked about 1200, 1500, 1400, and 1800 and we will get to those numbers, everything else if we don’t attack them they will serve. The fact is that every year it increases. And therefore we should do it intelligently and sensitively.
"And if again we make Plesner errors or other types of assault, there will be here only retreat even then we cannot hold even the Nahal Haredi. I too, if I'm attacking I defend myself. Hopefully we can get through this safely. The main thing is to behave responsibly."
"I, at least, will fight for it to be done sensitively and responsibly with the Haredi sector."
