Jerusalem District Attorney by Attorney Chaim Pas, filed today (Wednesday) in the District Court an indictment against Rabbi Moshe Shapira, 78, for the solicitation of aggravated assault.
Hagaon Rabbi Moshe Shapira is the leader of the rabbis of Jerusalem, and serves as mentor of a father whose children were injured by a gang of secular and ultra orthodox.
Father and others suspected the complainant, who was born in 1942, is part of a network that operated in the neighborhood, in a hidden basement and tunnels in her home acts were held out against children by other adults and her, and that she preached to children about Christianity.
Over a year ago, the father came along with some of his children and other people to the defendant to consult with them on how to act on this affair and methods of treatment. According to the indictment, the defendant said to parents and children about the plaintiff, inter alia, that "... treatment of this woman should be strong. We need to go into her home and destroy the house and her. She should be beaten until hospitalized. I do not care if there won't be anyone to be hospitalized...."
Following the words of the accused to the father, the father contacted with others to harm the complainant.
On 27.2.12 they learned that the complainant is to fly abroad and decided to hurt her physically to stop her travelling abroad. On this day, the father and three others arrived at the complainant's home equipped with iron rods, gloves and plastic cuffs and had agreed that the two of them hit her while the others will go a thorough search in order to find the hidden basement, tunnels in the house and video documentation severe actions.
The four broke into the complainant's home after he artfully made her open the door to her home, tied her up and beat her vigorously for about an hour and a half. At the end of the event, the four dropped the complainant on the floor, put a number of chairs so she cannot move and left the house while they left her tied up, bruised and bleeding.
