A serious car accident occurred this morning (Wednesday) in Jerusalem: pedestrians were hit by a car, mostly students of Belz institutions nearby, and another vehicle. A seminary student, 14, was injured moderately to severe, and an 8 year-old girl suffered minor to moderate injuries. Other casualties were lightly injured, including a 'Chevra Kadisha' man. Volunteer medics of 'Union Hatzala' Jerusalem branch gave first aid.

The accident occurred on Yirmiahu corner Minchat Yitzchak street in Jerusalem at a time when the street is full of seminary girls that are on their way to school.

Later, Beis Malka called Union Hatzala and reported that two girls who sustained injuries in the accident were frightened and ran to the seminary, and paramedics arrived at the scene and gave them first aid.

Overall there were about 11 casualties: age 14 (Golda Bracha bat Esther Bluma) moderately wounded to severe, age 8 (Golda Frieda bas Chava Beila) in mild to moderate condition, 9 (Rachel bat Dikla) a 10-year-old Adele bat Yehudit) and another girl (Chava bat Rechil Zivia) in a slight condition. Another passerby in an easy condition, and also the vehicle driver in an easy condition. A Chevra Kadish vehicle driver was slightly injured, and 3 other girls were treated for shock.

Aharon Beck, a paramedic of Ichud Hatzala, told Behadrey Haredim that this was apparently a woman driver who lost control and hit pedestrians on the sidewalk and another vehicle under the bridge. The car driver was treated by paramedics in an easy condition, the Chevra Kadisha driver was also treated in an easy condition, a girl injured in the accident was hit in her head and her condition is moderate to severe, another girl injured is in an easy to medium condition. "

A bystander told Behadrey Haredim that the driver had lost control of her car on the street at the entrance to the Gur Talmud Torah on Brandes street, and apparently pressed the gas instead of the brakes, mounted the sidewalk and drove about 30 meters while hitting pedestrians, reached the crosswalk and hit another pedestrian, and continued up to the bridge on Yirmiahu Street where she stopped.
