Perri Committee returned this morning (Wednesday) to the negotiating table and voted for the equality burden outline: After the coalition crisis around the section regarding criminal sanctions against haredi draft dodgers, the Prime Minister ordered the Likud committee representatives to agree to the demand of Yesh Atid, and vote for the entire layout. However, the crucial words which state that the defense minister's authority to impose sanctions would be confiscated automatically, were left out, which may be considered as a kind of compromise between the parties.

MK Meir Porush said in response to the approval of the law: "This law is not the product of a professional body which sat and formulated it, many good public figures in Israel who are not part of the haredi public, regard this law a trend that is unacceptable, driven by hatred for learners of Torah and a desire to achieve political gain and nothing more."

"Prime Minister Netanyahu will go down in history as one whose government in 5773 - 2013 decided to limit the number of Torah scholars in Israel and send those who cleave to Torah to prison. Throughout the centuries there were many Jewish and religious persecutors and we continued with the tradition and we won."

Before the vote, Ya'alon attacked the representatives of Yesh Atid for their insistence to impose criminal sanctions on the Haredi sector: "You have to understand. The behavior of the haredi sector depends on us. What happened on Sunday is when we got to known section, it was impossible for me and has turned the Haredi street on, I suggested a version and I was ready for other formulations that will enable consideration. I also agreed to wording which was proposed and rejected because of outside interference. If we want to do politics, this is a subject too sensitive to do politics with. I too want everyone to serve, but there are disagreements and there is a gross violation of the common outline".

Ya'alon added that "It is forbidden to show aggression against the haredi sector and stoke hatred. If that will happen, the Nahal Haredi will also fall apart. I request that the atmosphere and things said should not fuel hatred. And for you it should reflect in the draft memorandum of law and decision-making. "

Before Ya'alon spoke, Minister Ariel, a representative of the Jewish home, spoke, and he too attacked the crisis generated with Yesh Atid: "There needs here that are not serving the main goal, but other needs. It is improper that for the last two days you have cast us out, you disappeared despite our request to share understandings. In this decision, we further the goal. What you suggest is to keep the possibility to recruit and keep them away from entering the labor market. We bring closer with the right hand and push away with the left hand. "

Ariel said in his words that the insistence on the article of sanctions was a violation of the understandings reached, "there was an understanding between the two parties, a common outline which is crudely trampled. I do not understand what it is and for what one has to break negative understandings that hours were invested in every word written."

Representatives of Yesh Atid argued against Ariel that is exaggerating, and chairman of the committee Minister Perry said: "It's impossible to make economic sanctions. If we could, we would. Indeed it is not linked to the outline, but this is a constraint. We searched and found no other way."

Earlier this week, Perry Committee approved most of the recommendations. But when a conflict was created when Yesh Atid insisted on imposing sanctions, and Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon claimed that it would be left to the discretion of the Minister of Defense.

Yesterday (Monday) Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the Defense Minister Moshe (Bugie) Ya'alon to vote for imposing personal sanctions against yeshiva students who do not enlist. During a meeting of Netanyahu with Ya'alon, the prime minister asked the defense minister to support the request of Yesh Atid to impose personal and criminal sanctions on haredi who do not enlist in the army.
