A serious incident occurred last night (Tuesday) in Lakewood: An orthodox one and a half year old baby was severely burned on his face, hands and chest.
Hatzalah medics were called to the scene and gave the child primary care, followed by an ambulance who took the child to the parking lot of the Lakewood High School, which also serves as the helipad, to be flown by helicopter to the hospital of St Barnabas - specializing in burns.
The incident occurred in the early evening; the baby came into the kitchen and noticed a glass of tea prepared by the mother herself. While the mother turned her back to get something, the baby tried to sip the boiling tea, and when reached out to the boiling cup it spilled all over him, in front of the terrified mother.
The baby's condition was defined stable.
