From India to Ethopia: Rebbe of Japan, married in Manchester

The second Japanese prisoner who was released - Yoel Zeev HaLevi Goldstein, who lives in the neighborhood of Meah Shearim and belongs to Toldos Avraham Yitzchak, who was the most famous of the prisoners of Japan, and was dubbed "the Rebbe from Japan', after he was released a year and a half ago from the Japanese prison - married tonight (Wednesday) in Manchester, England.

The bride is Tzirel Rami, the daughter of Rabbi Shmuel Yehuda Shapira, a resident of Manchester in England. The chassan is the son of Rabbi Aryeh Leib HaLevi Goldstein – a descendant of the Shelah, and Rabbi Hillel Makalmia zt"l.

Since his acquittal in Japan, Goldstein went through physical and mental rehabilitation. For a long time he studied at the Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem, where he returned to routine life.

The wedding took place in the local Beis Yaakov School, and was attended amongst others by Hachid"a Weiss, Satmar rabbi in Antwerp, who did much for his release, and two other Japanese prisoners - Yosef Bondo and Yaakov Yosef Greenwald.

The singer Aharele Samet as well as other singers came from Israel.
