Hgray"l: "Only with the study of Torah can we fight evil"

On Erev Shavuot Hgray"l Steinman was asked whether it is better to study with his young son on the night of Shavuot, or whether to go to yeshiva and learn. Hgray"l replied: "Das ist oich zich" (to learn with one's son is also studying).

On Erev Shavuot Hgray"l spoke about learning continuously: "the Ramchal says advice on all the bad things, to learn continuously and not stop, continuously as long as possible without interruption. This one studies two hours and there other another two hours, there would be no ever stop, just continuous studying and learning, and that way one gains much in spirituality and in all matters. [Even when not doing shifts just at a time when one learns, so there will continuity, since the strength of learning in a row, is much stronger".

After the holiday, Rabbi Yaakov Rezbinsky, director of Yeshiva Orchot Torah came and told the yeshiva students who learned continuously all night, Hgray"l was delighted and spoke: "This is a form of real war with the evil forces that are taking over us these days, and I wish that we will soon see how smoke will consume all evil."
