The struggle against 'Women of the Wall' reached violence: on Shalom Yehuda Street in Jerusalem's Talpiot neighborhood, vandals sprayed addresses on the front door of Peggy Siddur, a board member of Women of the Wall organization. The graffiti stated: "Torah price tag" and "Wall is not cheap, Jerusalem is holy."

Jerusalem Police opened an investigation.

The inscriptions were discovered around 8:00 this morning by a neighbor who filed a complaint with the police. Two police officers who arrived toured the building, and came to the home of Peggy Siddur, since her door was the only one in the building which was also sprayed. Siddur filed a complaint and gave testimony, and the matter is under police review.

In response Peggy Siddur said this morning: "The address was the hardest for me to read was "Peggy you're invalid"because there's something very personal and very litigious in it."

Siddur wrote on her Facebook page this morning: "An unpleasant morning. Ten minutes ago there was banging on my door. Two cops (in black, what does it mean?) asking to enter and talk to me.

"My stairwell and my door were sprayed with graffiti. Neighbors rang the police. Torah price tag, Western Wall is holy., Etc. etc.. And the icing: "Peggy Siddur we know where you live."

Women of the Wall's said in response: "It is likely that these are youngsters who are bored, acting in accordance with the sound of incitement by leaders. The real problem facing society is not what they did but what the leaders of the Haredi community will do now. The writing on the wall. We call upon rabbis to speak out and condemn the very act decisively and stop the incitement against the Women of the Wall, regardless of the legitimate public debate."

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat strongly condemned the graffiti at the entrance to the home of Peggy Siddur of Women of the Wall.

Barkat said that the graffiti is violence by any means, that has to be treated with full extent of the law. "The way to resolve disputes in the city is not violence, but through discourse and dialogue and reaching as broad an agreement as possible that will address the needs of all parties."

Western Wall Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz strongly condemns the heinous act of writing graffiti on the home of Mrs. Peggy Siddur: "This is not the way of the Torah, "its ways are ways of pleasantness and all its paths are peace!" I have warned against flare and sinas chinam (hatred), I pray and hope we can stop the deterioration and reach a solution that the Wall remain as holy ground that unites and binds and not as disputed territories. I will continue to act in this spirit, and I call on all fanatic groups to remove their hands from this holy place."
