Elad city residents claim: Mayor, Yitzchak Eidan, abandoning our lives.
According to the expected efficiency program budget for 2013 and -2014 in the city, some of which are planned cuts come as part of the municipality from the obligation to improve the budgetary balance.
Residents of the city, who received the efficiency program, saw a small but important section that is pikuach nefesh.
This is the section designated for ambulance services regularly in the city where 45 thousand inhabitants live. The service provided by MDA at all times.
In 2012, the municipality granted a budget of 108,000 shekels for the service required, but only 76,000 shekels was actually spent. The reason for this lies in the fact that on August 31 in 2012 ended the contract with MDA.
Contract renewal process stalled, and so far the ambulance services were not renewed properly. However, MDA has so far not removed the ambulance from the city and continued to provide the services, although so far has not received payment for it.
But the expected budget for the coming year canceled funding for these services altogether.
A municipality condemned the act: "Mayor is abandoning the resident's lives. If MDA will understand that there is no payment for this section, they will cease to provide services, it would take an ambulance from Petach Tikva 20 minutes to arrive, and it involves the risk of human life."
The city's response was not available. When it is received it will be published.
