'Good' for Haredim: Lawyer's Day won't take place during three weeks

Due to requests received from haredi lawyers, and following vigorous activity by the 'Tov' faction at the Bar Association, Lawyer's Day – which was set during the mourning period of the month of Tammuz - Av - was postponed to Succos.

Lawyer's Day is a special formulation day for lawyers and their families conducted by the Bar Association every summer.

The day includes academic activities, visit to a facilities park and music events. So far this day took place during the summer. This year the bureau showed consideration of the Muslim holiday of Ramadan and postponed the day, which might have been set to 'Bein Hamezarim', in which according to Jewish law it is customary to mourn the destruction of the Temple.

Due to the request by Mr. Yechezkel Rosenblum, a representative of the movement of 'Tov' in the Bar Association and Chairman of movement, the Bureau's management decided to postpone the event to the days of Succos.

"The nature of the event," says Rosenblum, "is not appropriate in the days in which it is customary to remember the days when the Temple was destroyed. These are days of mourning, not days for happy events."

"I'm happy," says Rosenblum, "the Israel Bar Association showed consideration towards haredi, religious and traditional lawyers, who are its members."
