Two former chairmen fighting for membership in Finance Committee

While the various committees in the Knesset have been staffed, with their members and their heads, two roles have remained unmanned: Member of the Finance Committee on behalf of Yahadut Hatorah and Science Committee chairman, also on behalf of Yahadut Hatorah.

In recent days, both candidates for the positions, party chairman MK Yaakov Litzman and chairman of Degel HaTorah, MK Moshe Gafni, broadcasted that "they get along, and will decide soon on the identity of staffing roles - who are manning what. But now it turns out that things are not simple at all, and as is customary in Yahadut Hatorah quite a battle is also expected this time.

But the battle is not waged for leadership of the Science Committee but that of the Finance Committee membership. It turns out that according to these two, a member of the Finance Committee can have more influence than a committee chairman, in particular in the Science Committee.
On the other hand, some say that if MK Litzman will take the chairmanship of Science Committee, he will make her highly publicized and attractive - as he did with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry which was neglected for years, and then became the most desirable office amongst candidates for Minister.

During recent discussions of the Finance Committee Gafni took part, not yet as a permanent member, and again and again managed to blow cynical comments at committee chairman, Nissan Slomiansky. Most of the comments touched by implication that the latter is still inexperienced compared to his predecessor, Gafni course.

So far not Yahadut Hatorah has not yet submitted the names of its candidates for these two positions, and only after the faction meets (today or during one of these days) the issue will be decided on, probably by vote.
