Kiryat Malachi: mayoral candidate from Shas came to the Fraud Unit

Municipality of Kiryat Malachi has not yet recovered from the affair which last stirred her, and a new episode is at the door: City Council member Mishel Tapiro, considered a senior candidate to win the role of mayor for the next half year, following the resignation of Mayor Moti Malka as agreed in a plea bargain in the case, disappeared yesterday for a few hours, in what turned out later to give evidence to fraud squad offices.

The cause of Tapiro's appearance is not yet known, but it is estimated that there the assumption is that he filed a complaint on the vote which will be held on Wednesday, in which will be elected interim Mayor of Kiryat Malachi from the following council members.
Tapiro is currently considered the leading candidate for the job. The main challenger to him is Deputy Mayor Yossi Suleimani.

Journalist Eli Jean from Yedioth Darom published that Tapiro said yesterday morning: "pressure is being applied to quit the race."

In a conversation with B'Chadrei Charedim Tapiro responded: "I will refer to the reports this weekend or early next week."
