Huberman has raised a storm: "I think the military tombstone converts!"

Journalist Haggai Huberman devoted his weekend column in the "Mood" bulletin to the fact that chief of staff Lt. Gen. fact Benny Gantz laid on the eve of Memorial Day a flag on the grave of an officer in the central part on Mount Herzl, Lieutenant Colonel Shlomo Nizani z"l, and not on the grave of Yevgeni Tolotchko, the last soldier who died during military service, and was buried in the non Jewish IDF soldiers plot.

As a result of this error, the IDF Chief of Staff decided to change the procedure for placing flags on Mount Herzl, and next year will also place a flag on the latest military tomb in addition to the flag which will be placed in the central part. "Why is a non Jewish soldier buried in a separate plot?" Huberman asks in his column, "this is the root of the problem: not where to put a flag, but the separation burial."

"I am well aware of the theory, which requires a separation between Jews and non-Jews," he added. "I do not suggest blurring the differences between Jews and non-Jews, certainly not in terms of life. But in my honest opinion, military tombstone's convert."

"IDF soldiers serving together, fighting together for the country and in tragic cases falling together for the country must also be buried together in the same part. Not by chance was it determined from the beginning of the state that soldiers will be buried in specialized departments, separate military plots. Soldiers, who fought shoulder to shoulder, shall be buried shoulder to shoulder."
