Winter returns? Strong winds, hail in the center and snow on Mount Hermon

Winter is not yet over – Snow on Mount Hermon, rains from the north to the Negev and volleys of hail along the coast and the mountains.

In the morning hours of Shabbos accumulated a thin layer of white flakes on Mount Hermon, piled into a few centimeters. In the center it rained a lot and residents were shocked by the hail and strong winds which accompanied the rain.

Measured rainfall until late afternoon:

Lod fell 25 mm, 12 in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Beit Dagan 18 9. Merom Golan in the north today 18 mm and Yavniel near the Kinneret 16 mm. Jerusalem was relatively dry today with 2 mm of rain only, Negev and Ashkelon in the south only 3 mm.

Mount Hermon little white flakes piled up - at a height of about 5 cm on the upper level and 2 cm at the lower level.

This is the most winter day since the beginning of February. In some places in the country low temperatures are lower by about 10 degrees than the average in April. This season could have been one of the rainiest in history, but the sudden drought in February and in March prevented it.

Nevertheless, seasonal rainfall is still slightly higher than average and is approximately 105% the national weighting.

On Motzei Shabbos the rains weakened due to the departure of cold air, but local rain will continue to fall in northern and central Israel. On Monday local rain is still expected, but on Tuesday and Wednesday temperatures will elevate and warmer weather is expected again.
