Tensions between Haredim and Habayit Hayehudi chairman Minister Naftali Bennett leads, it seems, even to extreme acts.
An unsigned threatening letter received today (Thursday) at the office of the Minister of Industry and Economy said: "You will die young. You will end up like Sharon."
The letter wrote: "It is better not to start with Gedolei Hatorah, one tear is to paralyze you for life. Anyone who saddened haredim rose to prominence, but then will be like Sharon. A bitter life is waiting for you, fantasies of fear will affect you when you get to the public. From today your life is over."
Minister Bennett's office filed a complaint with the police to investigate who is behind the threats and whether there is reason to fear or it is an act of vandalism.
The tension between Bennett and the Haredi community began after the alliance with Yair Lapid's party Yesh Atid, which seeks to integrate the haredim into the army and work force. Bennett, for his part, claimed that he tried to form an alliance with the religious parties before, but was ignored.
