Barbeque affair • a police complaint against 'Mako:' "inciting bloodshed"

Due to the vicious propaganda which raged the last two days on the social networks against the ultra-Orthodox public, following publication about yeshiva students who made a barbeque on the Holocaust Day, presented today (Wednesday), Yaakov Libby,a social activist and founder of the 'Haredi Initiative', a police complaint against Israeli surfers who incite murder of haredim, and complaint against Mako site - who led the discussion on facebook.

Libby filed the complaint after the Facebook page editors of the Mako site, posted the picture where haredim are seen having a barbeque on the eve of Holocaust Day in Sacher Park in Jerusalem. "Is it necessary to punish the Haredim who made a barbecue on the Holocaust Day?" editors wrote, and caused users to react en masse against the ultra-Orthodox public, shocking generalizations and phrases.

"Useless eaters, a minority that controls the country, I would have thrown the barbeque on their heads, fortunately ovens are not working at Auschwitz, grill them like dogs, throw them into the gas chambers" were some of the reactions and serious expressions written by the users.

In a conversation with B'Chadrei Charedim Libby says: "Such incitement could lead to bloodshed. There cannot be a reality in which people call out to murder the Orthodox on Holocaust day and we as citizens in the country do not assign our power to prevent it."

He concludes: "If the will of the Israeli police is not to take care of this complaint and wait until a disaster happens, it will be their responsibility."

From mako's response: "The discussion which arose dealt with a sensitive and controversial issue. Following the many responses received, the personal column of the ultra-Orthodox journalist Yisrael Cohen in mako was posted.

"Mako advocates express a variety range of opinions and conducting extensive discussion on various issues. We oppose any violence or incitement on the network, and do all we can to remove expressions of extreme violence."
