Emerging: Police close 'Halperin case'

British police will reach until the end of the week the decision in court, if it decides to prosecute Rabbi Chaim Halperin - head of the Congregation Divrei Chaim, his brother Rabbi David Halperin – congregation leader in Hendon, and two activists, Gavriel Ost – one of the Shomrim heads in Golders Green, and Alexander Strom.

Police have the option to make the decision until Thursday, as determined by the court.

So far the key witnesses refused to testify before police against Rabbi Halperin, and therefore it is estimated the investigation file will be closed and the suspects who were detained a few days, will be released without conditions.

The four were arrested six weeks ago on suspicion of involvement in the affair which stirs the Haredi street for seven months.
Rabbi Chaim Halpern, the son of Rabbi Elchanan Halperin one of the senior Charedi Rabbis of England suspected of harm and abuse of women who came to him for advice in matters of Shalom Bayis. Three other detainees are suspected of obstruction of justice.

36 hours later, the four were released from custody on bail and conditions to come forward whenever required.

The special Beis Din consisting of three dayanim discussing the matter will return to London to continue to hear the allegations against Rabbi Halperin, by the women who refused to go to the police are prepared to talk before the Beis Din.

The women claim that Rabbi Halperin himself has said that he is ready to face the Beis Din.
