Long imprisonment of Haredi businessman, Yaakov Ostreicher in one of the most dangerous prisons in Bolivia, again this week turned out to be none justified: Fernando Rivera, a former state prosecutor, apologized in an unprecedented way to Ostreicher for causing his imprisonment.

Prosecutor jailed a few months ago after it emerged that he was involved in corruption related to the Ostreicher case, "I want to express to Mr. Ostreicher my apologies if he was hurt by me at a certain time," Rivera said during a court hearing.

He added: "I just want to say that because of my job I had to obey the orders given to me from above. Apologies of humility and I do so out of respect to Mr. Ostreicher".
Ostreicher is presently under house arrest after 19 months in one of the most dangerous prisons in Bolivia.

Haredi businessman is suspected of alleged ties with drug traffickers and money laundering offenses.

The change in the legal process of Ostreicher took place in recent months as authorities revealed that the case involved 11 government officials, including senior cabinet minister who was arrested - suspicion of selling Ostreicher's rice although the rice was banned - by the authorities.

Senior minister accused of earning from the sale 9900 dollars. Prosecutor added that more arrests will be made by officials in the case.
