The Jerusalem District Court sentenced today (Tuesday) on Jack Teitel, called the 'Jewish terrorist', two life sentences plus 30 years in prison in the aggregate, and compensation of 560 thousand shekels to the victims.

Last January Teitel was convicted of two counts of murder of Palestinians, three attempted murders and many other acts of sabotage which were racially motivated.

In addition to murder of Palestinians Teitel was convicted by his own admission of planting a pipe bomb in 2008 outside the home of Professor Ze'ev Sternhell of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, who was slightly injured, and planting more cargo earlier in the year at the home of Messianic Jews in Ariel, causing severe injuries sustained by a youth.

Decision of the judges who condemned Teitel said among other things that "the defendant is responsible for the acts. Never a doubt in his heart arose between his acts and mental impairment he suffers from and therefore we decided to convict him for his actions."
The indictment required to impose two life sentences plus 70 years in prison on aggregate. "We should impose the life sentence for each murder of which he was convicted and each attempted murder 20 years in prison on aggregate. Regarding the matter of incitement - a sentence of between 10-5 years and the punishment of incitement offenses 5-3 years, cumulatively," said the sentencing.

The defense sought a reprieve for mental disorder which Teitel has: "The defendant suffers from severe personality disorder schizophrenic with psychopath lines, narcissistic rage and fanatical extremist ideology."

Teitel was arrested in October 2009 by the Jewish Department of the Shabak, and his investigation uncovered Jewish terror that lasted over a decade.
Among other things Teitel confessed to the murder of a taxi driver from East Jerusalem and Palestinian shepherd in 1997, laying explosives in the Eli settlement in 2006, injuring a Palestinian with a bomb in Beit Shemesh in 2007 and planting explosives near police cars in Jerusalem that year.

Teitel responded to his conviction and sentence and said he did not regret his actions.
