ISA: only minor damage from cyber offensive

ISA concludes the virtual attack on Israel: true to noon (Monday) the alert continues and continued efforts and actions to prevent cyber attacks that began on Shabbos.

According to GSS estimates, the wave of attacks - including thousands of attempts - still continues, and identified the efforts of several groups of hackers around the world continue to attack Israeli sites.

So far, the ISA together with factors of "e-government" and various units of the system were able to detect and prevent the attacks meant to hit many websites that provide among others services to the citizens. Deployment continues.

GSS, which over the years specialized in cyber defense of critical computer infrastructure in Israel, recently passed Protection guidelines and government officials gave recommendations to defensive factors in the private sector and business. Within this framework, GSS has led to various technological measures to protect complex systems in different sectors.

So far the level of events and their characteristics are low, and no damage to the site or service to the citizen on "e-government" or major media companies. Sites that were harmed were mostly of private citizens that are characterized by the level of basic protection.
