Embarrassment to the Jewish community in France - Chief of French Jewry, Rabbi Gilles Bernheim, was accused of plagiarism in his book 'Forty Jewish Mediations.
This week the rabbi admitted guilt and took responsibility, and ordered to remove the book from the shelves.
The affair began when a French blogger claimed that Rabbi copied word for word the book's contents from other books. The news sprouted wings, and at the end of the saga he apologized to the public and to the editor of his book.
Rabbi added that he had a ghost writer who wrote the book for him, and that he was unaware of the theft. He said the Ghost Writer disappeared and cut of all contact. Rabbi added that one of the writers from which it claims was stolen from him a text, he is the one who stole the text from the Rabbi, but this claim has been refuted.
