During Obama visit: Rocket on Orthodox kindergarten in Sderot

Rocket fired two weeks ago at Sderot, hit an orthodox kindergarten, 'Margaliot' on Meginim Street, who at that time were on vacation - and caused considerable damage.

This is a preschool for 3 year olds. At noon, at around 12:40, when the kindergarten staff came to prepare the kindergarten for 25 children, they discovered the hole in the roof of the building and the damage caused by the rocket.

"There are rockets which fall in open areas which you discover after two months, the miracle which happened to us is that the rocket exploded when there was no child in the kindergarten," Sderot Mayor David Buskila told News 2 online. He noted that this is a direct and hard hit: "I do not want to think what would have happened if there were children there."

In light of the incident, the municipality is now considering closing the kindergarten, which is only partially secured. "We are waiting for the opinion of experts in the Home Front Command, after which we will decide whether to continue the activity."
